Freelance Trainer

I have been developing and delivering virtual and Face to Face workshops for parents, carers and education, clinical, social services and therapy professionals for a number of years, receiving consistently excellent reviews and feedback.

I deliver courses in association with NHS West Sussex CCG, NHS Health England, the DfE, West Sussex County Council, AC Education, Concept Training, West Sussex Mind and Reaching Families which has resulted in training thousands of people from West Sussex to Malta.

Working in association with the Neurosequential Model of Education and Child Trauma Academy and Dr. Bruce Perry, I deliver training sessions and support schools using the Neurosequential Model, developed by Dr. Bruce Perry (author of 'The Boy Who Was Raised As A Dog'). This model is particularly useful for supporting children and young people who have experienced trauma.

I am a Youth Mental Health First Aider.

I have been trained by the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families to deliver The Link Programme, a programme put in place by the DfE.

Family and School Consultations

I advise families and schools where there is a concern surrounding a child's SEND and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

While advising schools I often advise parents and families on ways to address the needs of their children and young people with SEND or SEMH.

I consult with schools on school development matters, whole school practice and policy, classroom practice, and individuals and groups of pupils.

Team Manager Learning and Behaviour Advisory Team, West Sussex County Council

I led a team of highly-skilled Advisory Teachers at West Sussex County Council, advising on pupils with SEND and social, emotional and mental health difficulties in mainstream primary and secondary schools and delivering training to primary and secondary mainstream and special schools. Prior to managing the team I worked as an Advisory Teacher for the team for 14 years.

Teacher in special and mainstream schools

I have worked in a range of mainstream and special schools in Hampshire, Berkshire and Brighton and Hove, teaching pupils from the age of 2 up to 18 years old. I have taught children with varying types of needs, including Autism, ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, Specific Learning Difficulties, Complex Learning Difficulties, Down Syndrome and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
